The
American Freedom Train in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
September 7-10, 1975
The
train's 29th display city.
On the trip from Fargo to Sioux Falls, the train stopped in Sheldon, Iowa for water. Arriving on Chicago & Northwestern tracks, the train switched over to Milwaukee Road on the wye. The local fire department filled the steam locomotive's tender with water from a nearby hydrant. The train arrived at 8AM on a Saturday, so school children were able to see it.
Thanks go to Sheldon resident Harold Wagenaar for supplying this info on his home town! |
