These audio wands were used for the first several display stops. While traveling through the train, visitors would hold them to their ears to hear narration specific to what was in front of them.
The wands were rechargeable, but proved impractical to use and maintain -- and they were soon abandoned. The audio presentation was then provided by speakers placed inside the display cars.
