Freedom
Train art by Howard Fogg
Renowned railroad
artist Howard Fogg made two paintings of the Freedom Train for the
American Locomotive Company (Alco), builders of the locomotive that
pulled the train.
The more well-known
painting, featuring the train by the Washington Monument, was used
on posters and postcards that were sold at Freedom Train display
sites.
The lesser-known
of the two (bottom) -- a meeting of old and new locomotives -- was
apparently not reproduced.
This "second"
Freedom Train painting disappeared for decades, but has recently
come to light!

story of its rediscovery here.
B&W image:
From a 1948 C&NW employee magazine in the collection of George
Barker. Over the years, Charles E. Dare and John J. Scala also sent
B&W copies of the painting to George in their efforts to track
down the painting.
