Preamble
Express Marker Flags
The locomotives
of the Preamble Express (the train that scouted the route of the
AFT) often carried special marker flags denoting the train as a
special movement, using whatever color the host railroad observed.
This set of
green flags was carried on the front of the 951 locomotive from
New Orleans to Birmingham on the Southern Railway October 7, 1974.
